PARI PASSU PINOT NOIR
Pari Passu is a small production Pinot Noir that Lindsay Woodard, owner of Retour crafted with her brother and wine veteran, Jeff Woodard. The trailblazing sibling duo are sixth-generation Oregonians who are deeply rooted in the Willamette Valley wine industry. This is their first collaborative effort of making a wine together - and as a result, they created a seamless Pinot Noir of extremely high quality, crafted from old vines.
{Latin for Equal Footing}
“SIX DEGREES of SEPARATION” So many stories about making a wine are focused solely on just the farmer and vintner. There is so much more glowing appreciation to give to those who have an equal footing, or hand in the fabric of making and celebrating each vintage. From the GROWER and meticulous crew, to the WINEMAKER and harvest team that has dedicated their entire days and sleepless nights in pursuit of perfect balance and harmony, to the FAMILY within the winery who has a constant pulse on each calculated move, to the distributor that carefully represents the wine, the SOMMELIERS or WINE BUYERS who hand sell each bottle -- and lastly, the soulful COLLECTOR who pops the cork and rejoices in the beauty of the vintage with their friends and family.
There is an underlying partnership and SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION that create the driving eminence in the entire life cycle from farming and craftsmanship to the point of breaking the bread and sipping the wine.
This wine exemplifies the essence of a classic, cool Willamette Valley Pinot Noir that is absolutely delicious to enjoy now, but will benefit with aging. Pari Passu is fermented with native yeasts and aged for 12 months in 100% French Oak, 50% new barrels. Lindsay designed the packaging that is intriguing, classic and whimsical. Each label includes the coordinates of the Willamette Valley on the 45th Parallel.
